Test benches – Overview
The test benches and the respective services are presented in the following:
- Compressor test benches
- Climatic chamber
- Test benches for other components
- Test bench design
- Development of hardware and electronics
Compressor test benches
Several compressor test benches are currently in operation for the refrigerants R-744 and R-134a/ R-1234yf. The test benches are suitable for stationary and dynamic tests of refrigerant compressors. From high-frequency compressor indexing to automated shutdown of stationary measuring points, a wide range of investigations are possible.

Climatic chamber
Together with the Institut für Thermodynamik at the TU Braunschweig, TLK provides measurement services in a calorimetric climate chamber.

The chamber-in-chamber test bench allows for the investigation of cooling/ refrigeration systems and heat pumps in a temperature range of around -20°C to +50°C. The climate chamber is designed for systems up to the performance range of a typical bus or rail air-conditioning system or a large truck transport refrigeration system.
In addition to this chamber, we also operate a further climate chamber in our laboratory areas in the Rebenpark, which is available for the investigation of e.g. hoarfrost and icing of evaporators in heat pumps.

Test benches for other components
In addition to compressors, all other thermal systems can also be tested on our test benches. The spectrum of our measurements includes detailed investigations of various heat exchangers, expansion valves, collectors, the investigation of humidifier modules in fuel cell systems etc. up to the analysis of explosive decompression of sealing materials in particular also for R-744. Please contact us if you have specific questions.

Test bench design
We offer our customers the development of innovative test bench designs, based on our many years of experience in the construction and operation of refrigeration test benches. We pay special attention to a high quality control system, which we develop and validate with our TIL Suite models.

Development of hardware and electronics
Should the suitable hardware not be available for the measurement technology used, we also develop our own components. From simple PWM generators to CAN bus-based modular measurement sensors, we develop individual components and small series for our own use or on our customers' behalf.
